A busy month!

Wow! What a busy month April has been for us! From Print Stuff to Northern Craft, a fair every weekend to keep us going and we’ve thoroughly enjoyed the challenge!

It was a great experience to have a stall at this years Liverpool Print Fair as well as organising it as part of The Print Social.  Along with Things By Us we designed an A5 print that would be free to the first 100 people through the doors of The Bluecoat and boy was it a busy day!

We had the pleasure of chatting to lots of lovely people who had such kind things to say about our work! We really enjoyed being surrounded by such awesome printers and meeting some new faces too, always a bonus!

Thanks to Liverpool Print Fair for a brilliant day!

LIVERPOOL FOOD & DRINK FESTIVAL – 15th & 16th April 2017

Over the Easter weekend we were lucky enough to pitch up our stall at the annual spring Liverpool Food and Drink Festival in Sefton Park.  This was the first year that they had incorporated a craft tent into the festival so we had the chance to experience it from a completely new perspective which was pretty cool.

Big shout out to Ryde who were serving coffee from a vintage caravan.  Looking forward to more awesome coffee from these cool guys at The Good Life Experience in September! Check out their bicycle and coffee shop down in the Baltic Triangle in Cains Brewery.

Print Stuff, York

At the beginning of April we had the pleasure of travelling up to the historic walled city of York for Print Stuff; an independent print and publishing fair.

@helloprintstuff really pulled off the event.  Especially with it being held in the Victorian building, De Grey Rooms, a brilliant venue for a print fair!

It’s no surprise it was a great turnout, there were so many talented printers under one roof with people passing by all day. Like each event we take part in we had a hard time deciding which prints we wanted to buy.

A huge thanks to all the wonderful people who stopped by our stall to browse, buy and just say hi and have a chat, we thoroughly appreciate it.

We should also mention we had the fab company of @fledglingstudio & @seanbarr on the way up so never a dull moment, thanks for the fun journey there and back you two!

Looking forward to hopefully taking part in another Print Stuff in the future!

Northern Craft Fair with The Print Social

So our last fair of April took us back up to Yorkshire but this time for Northern Craft Fair in Leeds and instead; representing The Print Social along with Mark and Abe from Things By Us.

We were super excited about this fair, not only because it was held in Northern Monk Brewery with an array of great beers, but also because we knew that the guys behind Northern Craft – Sean Mort and Carley Batley would do a grand job of curating it, which of course they did!

We really enjoyed being able to show off lots of work by other designers and illustrators from The Print Social making us proud to be from up North!

Of course it wasn’t all work work work, we had a great evening catching up with the fabulous OR8 Design and The Lost Fox soaking up a few more beers in the trendy pubs of Leeds.

Thanks all for a fun weekend.  We’re going to make sure we’re poised for the opening of applications for the Northern Craft Summer Fair in a few months. Fingers crossed!

Toucan Tango’s 1st Christmas…

The last few months of 2016 were very busy for us on the lead up to Christmas. As our first festive season trading as Toucan Tango we made sure to book ourselves into lots of fairs and craft events to ensure we got our name out and promote our brand as much as possible, plus we managed to have a great time whilst doing just that!

We kicked off in November attending Unwrapped Print Fair at the International Anthony Burgess Foundation; located at Chorlton Mill, a superb example of industrial architecture. Unwrapped was also in it’s first year and showcased the work of artists and designers from the North of England focusing on traditional printmaking methods. It was great to see so much talent amongst the 20 stallholders with a diverse mix of products on sale, in fact there was so much we wanted to buy for ourselves! We really enjoyed this fair, especially being surrounded by like-minded people and the organisers did a fantastic job considering it was their first event, hats off to you guys at Unwrapped!

Nearly forgot to mention; our fun didn’t stop there as we were headed over to Manchester Albert Hall to drop off the gig posters we designed and printed for Dinosaur Jr for their show that night which was an absolutely incredible performance! Happy we got to see them play!

The next event we were part of was the Landbaby & Co Handmade Christmas Fair in the stunning village of Port Sunlight on the Wirral. A beautifully quaint setting for this lovely craft fair just in time for the run up to Christmas and we couldn’t help but get excited for the festivities too!

And with good reason as the following weekend was the biggest event in the Christmas calendar for us; the Winter Arts Market. Usually held in the very grand St George’s Hall, this last year marked the start of it’s new location – Liverpool Cathedral on St James’s Mount. And what an awe-inspiring location it is. We felt very privileged we were selected as one of the stall holders here and had the most enjoyable day wandering around admiring the other stalls and chatting to so many members of the public who had patiently queued outside in the cold to get in. No-one could believe just how busy it was all day and the atmosphere was wonderful with people enjoying the beautifully ornate surroundings with their family and friends; the perfect festive day out (for us too)!

We ended our festive run with the Independent Liverpool Christmas Festival held over four days in The Great Baltic Warehouse. We had the pleasure of representing The Print Social sharing a stall with lots of brilliant work by talented printmakers who make up some of the faces of the collective; A really fantastic event with so many great street food choices for our dinner each evening, not forgetting one of our favourites – ‘gin in a tin’ – can’t complain about having to work when you’ve got one of them in your hand! We really enjoyed being part of something a bit different and had many a good chat with some great people who took the time to check out our work and took an interest in what we’re doing which is what it’s all about!

One last thing before we let you go, we’re proud to mention that we managed to raise £310 over the Christmas period for The Whitechapel Centre which helps the homeless in Liverpool, a cause very close to our hearts. So if you’d like to check out the important work these guys do, visit
